If you like to learn a little history while you read, then Search of the Moon King’s Daughter would probably be a good book for you. It can get a little depressing though. This takes place in the 1830’s and explains how people of different ranks lived, sparing no details. Emmaline lives in a comfortable home in a small village. Soon, she will have to move to the city (and NO I am not going to tell you why!). This is where her trouble and grief truly begins. Before this, she could easily hide her anxious thoughts about her mom and quietly deal with it. I got wrapped up in the characters of this book and that includes the sadness too!

“Wuthering Heights” is totally different than what I thought it would be. This book is definitely not your typical “Pride & Prejudice” romance but more like multiple tragic love stories. It’s the story of Cathrine and Heathcliff, two stubborn, selfish people with bad tempers who are in love but marry other people anyways. This makes everyone around them, including themselves, completely miserable. While the plot itself may not be terribly exciting, the characters themselves kept me reading. I hated them all for all the horrible things they did, yet I loved them all at the same time and I continually wanted to find out what each was going to do next. A wonderful read, but probably not for everyone.
