This book was not what I was expecting when I checked it out. It was a little slow at first and it didn’t end in a super satisfying way. Mike lives in a small town where every day is the same. She works out in the morning, goes to school and plays softball. but when Xanadu shows up Mike finds that her world is turned upside down. Mike soon finds that she is crushing on Xanadu but there is just one problem. Xanadu is straight. Mike never thinks of her as gay but there is no doubt that Mike likes Xanadu. Mike struggles with liking Xanadu but also with her family. Two years ago her dad committed suicide and her mom has been slowly killing herself by getting over wait ever since.

This hopeful yet tearful book is all about how a teen girl deals with her family problems and her sexuality.
