Okay so I was starting to get all comfy.  But after the comments and posts that happened over the weekend I am  getting a little nervous.  I should probably go try the lion head on.

We have 70 posts right now…that leaves 230 to go over the next 6 weeks.

Prize winners-let me know if you want your prize mailed to you or if you would like to pick it up at your local branch.  Take a look at the prizes and let me know which one you want.

If you posted for the first time in week 2 let me know if you want bus passes…

Watch out for the crazy ducks that may appear on the blog this week.  That’s all I am going to say about that.

Thanks y’all!  Aubri

Real bout high school is about a modern school where disputes are solved by fights and it focuses on one girl in particular. in the first volume it introduces some of the charactors and establishes the K-fight. this volume also establishes how strong the charactors are in comparison to the average student. the tv series starts out a bit later in the series than the manga with rivalries already established but i like how the manga lets you see how they come to be.

Banner of the stars is the second book in the trilogy and follows the same main charactors only it is 3 years after the first book. the main charactors are now the captain and lutennant of a ship and are going out to war. this follows them through their first few battles as well as lets you see how the two have grown and how much they have stayed the same.

Crest of the stars is a great book and the first in a trilogy where the future is in space and a sub race of humans are in control of most of the galaxy. this is the story of the princess of that race and the son of a human baron as they travel to the military acadimy and the adventure they have after their escort is attacked and they barely escape with their lives.

Higurashi when they cry: this is a decent series. it is a murder mystery with great charactor development and just enough mysteries to keep you reading. wjile i havent read enough to tell a lot about the series the first book introduces the main charactors and even places the hero on the verge of a decition between looking into this mystery possably at the cost of his life or leaving it alone.

The exiting action/mystery story that is James Patterson’s Sail is told through the eyes of Katherine Dunne, a rich wife to Jack Dunne, a widly respected lawer (also rich). The wife takes a sailing trip with her children only to find that they were being hunted by an insane murderer! But who?

Read this brilliant novel to find out, but only if you can handle a little swearing.

tHaT_dUdE out.

Shine Brightly is a magazine through the Gems club. I didn’t even know this when I picked the magazine up. They have some great ideas for being more “green” that are actually doable. The one thing that kind of disappointed me was the length, which was very short. If they could make it longer, I think it would be a lot better. They also have some great stories (fiction and non fiction) that teens wrote.

If you want some laughs this summer, Road Trip might be a good comic book for you. Its not too long (or too short) and the humor is for teenagers. Road Trip is part of the Zit comic book series. I am not usually that into comics, but I liked how Road Trip was for teenagers.

Paul is gay. He has known this since kindergarten when he found a note from his teacher to his parents saying that he was “definitely gay”. Thankfully Paul lives in a city where there are lots of gays. His school also has a gay-straight alliance group that was only made to teach the straight people to dance and the cheerleaders ride motorcycles. But Paul isn’t having a very good time when this book starts. His ex-boyfriend Kyle is ignoring him and going out with girls. Infinite Darlene, now a girl but used to be a guy who is also the head quarterback for the football team, is pissed a Joni, Paul’s best friend, because she is starting to date Chuck, Infinite Darlene’s enemy. And then Paul meets Noah who just complicates the whole thing. First Paul gets together with Noah but when Kyle starts talking to Paul again Paul’s feelings get all mixed up and when Kyle needs some support Paul gives him a kiss to comfort him. Noah finds out and is really mad at Paul because Noah knows that Paul was dumped by Kyle and still might have some feelings for Kyle. Then Paul tries to talk to Joni but she storms off and ignores him completely. Paul has no idea what to do and looks for help from his friend Tony, but Tony is dealing with his religious parents who can’t accept the fact that he is gay. Paul doesn’t know what to do but he has to come up with something fast otherwise he will lose his best friend, boyfriend, ex-boyfriend and will never be able to see Tony again.

This book is all about gay and straight kids and the problems they have and how they overcome that. It doesn’t have the “happy ever after” ending that could have happened but it is pretty close. I really loved this book.
